We've been heads-down shipping over the past few weeks. Here's a recap of everything that landed on Ossium in July 2026 — from a ground-up landing redesign to a new AI assistant and a powerful repo analyzer merge.

Redesigned Landing Page

We've completely redesigned the landing page with a cleaner layout, better visual hierarchy, and a sharper first impression. The goal was simple: make it clearer what Ossium does the moment you arrive. If you haven't visited in a while, it's worth a second look.

Introducing GitHub Selfbot

GitHub Selfbot is a new way to manage your repo's community — think Discord selfbot, but for GitHub. It auto-replies to activity using your own GitHub identity, so you never have to repeat yourself in issue threads or welcome messages again.

What you can set up:

  • Welcome messages — greet new contributors automatically when they open their first issue or PR
  • Goodbye messages — acknowledge contributors who step away
  • Custom command responses — a user types /guide, the bot deletes the command and instantly replies with the full guide content you've configured

All of this runs from your Ossium GitHub Selfbot page — no Actions boilerplate required.

Claim & Verify Your Repository

You can now claim ownership of your open-source repo and earn a verified badge on Ossium. Submit proof of ownership, and once approved, your repo gets the verified tick — signaling authenticity to the community. It's a small signal that makes a big difference when contributors are choosing where to spend their time.

Ossistant AI (Beta)

Say hello to Ossistant — our new AI assistant, currently in beta, built specifically to answer your open-source related questions. Whether you're figuring out contribution workflows, exploring GSoC programs, or just need guidance on where to start, Ossistant is there to help. It's free to use, and signing in helps save your chat history.

Custom Issue Timelines

Build a custom timeline tracking issues from your favorite open-source repos. Curate a list of repos you care about, and we'll surface only the issues from that list — no noise, just what matters to you. It's a focused way to stay on top of projects without drowning in notifications from repos you don't actively contribute to.

New Pages & Repo Analyzer Merge

We've shipped several new additions to the platform:

  • Web3 OSS repo page — explore Web3 open-source projects in one place
  • Premium Medium blogs — curated long-form content for deeper dives
  • OSS perks directory — benefits and discounts available to open-source contributors
  • Curated guides page — hand-picked resources for common contributor workflows
  • Bookmarks page — save your favorite repos for quick access later

We've also merged Repolyze into Ossium, giving you a single, powerful repo analyzer for evaluating any public repository. One tool, one place — no context switching.

What's next

We're not slowing down. If you haven't tried these features yet, head to ossium.in and explore. Got feedback or ideas? Drop by the forum or reach out at help@ossium.in — we read everything.
